[squid-users] ident_lookup ????

Hello

first sorry for my bad english!! :)

i will check which user go to the internet.
i can do this to check the ip. but someuser go to a other pc and then go to
the internet.

i check (will check )the username how the user login to the pc witch
ident_access.

Problem ist when i write "ident_lookup on" in the squid.conf. it did´nt
work.

can i test ist: squid is ok or squid isn´t ok,.....

squid 2.2
Linux 6.3
Workstation NT und win 98
