[squid-users] Need clarification

Hi List,

    Back after a big gap. Need some calarification regarding the file descriptor.

What is the fd's are used in SQUID?
 How does this affect the performance?
How do you calculate optimal fds? as I know we can allocate 256 file descriptor for the every 4MB of RAM. What is maximum file descriptor used by squid.

I am running the squid as a user squid in Rehat7.1.
