if u are using Linux as your gateway and squid server.. u don't need to make any extra configs to be able to use MSN and ICQ... if u are Masqing.. then everything should be ok.. coz Linux uses transparent Masqing for NATing to the net... u can try using IPCHAINS and see how that goes... it would be like the clients using MSN and ICQ actually had their own public IP addresses... Squid will only handle request from IE and Netscape.. any other requests such as MSN and ICQ don't need to go through Squid...
