I'm guessing a lot of folks are running squid on Linux 2.4 given it's much
improved network stack performance, though almost everyone running a proxy
or accelerator of some sort will get bitten by TCP_ECN if they don't turn it
off... Glad that suggestion worked for you.

Thanks, you hit it right on the dot with TCP_ECN, I totally forgot about
that and everything's back to normal (well I've got an unexpected surprise
on kernel recompilation but not squid-related)

Can you see them otherwise from the proxy box itself? Try opening up a
client connection via telent to those domains and issue an http reuqest
manually; see if it works... also, if you are using a 2.4 kernel, make sure
TCP_ECN is turned off.

I'm running the Squid 2.4.1 pkg available on Debian 2.2.
Everything was fine till recently this week, I'm unable to browse to sites
such as www.zdnet.com/zdnn , theregister.co.uk , www.devshed.com . Most
other sites are fine.
Have no clue what's stopping me from hitting the main URLs of those sites,
if I begin from an article somewhere within DevShed, it works fine.
anyone have a clue?
alex
