[squid-users] very large ACL & problems with authorization

Hi !!!
I am having a problem with an ACL which allows certain ips to access the web proxy.
the file(allowedips) which has the authorized ips is 1788 lines long.
When the file was smaller, it worked fine and i didnt have any problems;but now , many ips that are in this
file are being denied by the proxy.
Its is possibly that this could happen by the large size of this file ????
is there any restriction about the max lines an acl file could have ????

i am using squid-2.2.STABLE2
in a FreeBSD 3.1
