after upgrading squid from 2.3.stable4 to 2.4.stable1 - it was
unfortunately NOT stable at all. (os: solaris 2.6).

since no-one had an idea why squid grew so large until all physical mem +
swap mem was used up,
i had to downgrade to 2.3.s4 to get it stable.

from previous mails to this list i understood that i am defintely not the
only one that had problems with the
memory usage in 2.4.s1.

maybe someone can try and figure out which os'es are affected...

Version of the Squid?? One of the bug in 2.3. If you have 2.3 then Upgrade
to 2.4
