Hi,

    External DNS will not do concurrent lookups, So DNS processes should be
increased to do that. Some time it may hang when the connection is too slow.
So internal DNS will improve the productivity.

        You should have the maximum number of children(32)

    For 1GB of cache_dir 40MB Cache_mem (10 MB for swap.state and 30MB for
Objects. this info is from Henrik). But it is not a standard.It depends on
the request rate.

    Depends on hard disk capacity. Default is good (16 256)

    See cache_effective_user and cache_effective_group in squid.conf
