Hi,
I'm configuring SQUID(release 2.4) in my lab for a demo.
The DNS name I used is not registerd. But the configuration of DNS
server/client is OK.
Below is the message:
# /usr/local/squid/bin/squid -NCd1
2001/04/05 17:15:48| Starting Squid Cache version 2.4.STABLE1 for
sparc-sun-solaris2.6...
2001/04/05 17:15:48| Process ID 8038
2001/04/05 17:15:48| With 1024 file descriptors available
2001/04/05 17:15:48| Performing DNS Tests...
FATAL: ipcache_init: DNS name lookup tests failed.
So I use:
#/usr/local/squid/bin/squid -DNCd1 &
to start the server.
My question:
Do I have to register the DNS name? Or, do I have to use DNS?
Thanks,
Roger Wang
