Get the daily 2.5 snapshots from
  http://www.squid-cache.org/Versions/v2/2.5/

The snapshots are fully prepared for building, and builds with a version
string indicating which snapshot you are using to help bug tracking.

Or if you absolutely prefer to use CVS, see
http://www.squid-cache.org/Devel/cvs.html.

The SourceForge repository should only be used if you want to try truly
"cutting-edge-being-hacked-on-right-now" code.
