[squid-users] capacity of squid

Hi, i have implemented a squid (squid-2.3.STABLE4-1) on a server. It's a Dell
power edge 2450 with 512Mb of Ram, a pentium III 733 processor, a 100Mb/s
network adapter, 2 disks in Raid1 (18 Gb Ultra3Wide SCSI), i need to serve
around 5000 clients on a country, that i want to know is how much tcp
connections a single squid can serve ? and if there is a limit, what happen
beyond this limit ? are the requests send directly, like a passthrough cache ?
