Hi,
I think You have not created the swap directroys.Try creating swap directorys by giving squid -z.Now start the squid u will be able to see the two pid for squid.
Now try typing ./client http://www.netscape.com -p port
port in which the squid listens.
Thanks,
-Balu.

Subject: [SQU] Client:Error???
I am trying to test Squid to see if it's working by typing "./client http://www.netscape.com/>test"
and get the following message:
Client:ERROR: cannot connect to localhost 3128. no such file or directory
If I type "./ squid -k check" nothing happens.
I'm just trying to get a simple Squid proxy/cache to work
pidof squid returns "691" I don't know what this tells me.
