what messages do ya have in your /usr/local/squid/logs/cache.log ?
send us that message when you run /usr/local/squid/bin/squid .

Dear Friends,
I had installed Squid 2.3.Stable4 on rhl6.2 as discribed in user 
guide, when i try to start squid
/usr/local/squid/bin/squid
It respond blank, and when i try to check it 
/usr/local/squid/bin/squid -k check
squid: ERROR: no running copy
Can any body suggest me where is the problem.
Secondly from where I can get the RPM format of latest stable 
Squid.
