[SQU] Squid does not run

Hi ...
I have just installed Squid on a Linux 2.4 Box.
When I run
# client -v -r http://www.cisco.com | more
I get the following error message
Access Denied
Access Control Configuration prevents your request from being allowed at
this time ....

I have made only the standard acl entries with no 'deny' entries....

Pls help...
