I did not found the document. However, in my experience our satellite link
is drop for around 20%-30% if our Squid not run. We compressed our TCP
header to get more efficient traffic. It saves around 15%.
FYI, our “downlink” is only 192 Kbps. By running Squid, MRTG reports that
our users can access Internet “similarly” up to 256 kbps.
