Did you run a "squid -z" before running ./squid ?
or does the squid.conf file exist in /path/squid/etc ?

Im trying to run squid 2.3 on a FreeBSD 4.0 release box.
The following information is what I get when I try to run squid.
# ./squid
FATAL: none: (2) No such file or directory
Squid Cache (Version 2.3.STABLE2): Terminated abnormally.
CPU Usage: 0.116 seconds = 0.070 user + 0.046 sys
Maximum Resident Size: 964 KB
Page faults with physical i/o: 0

Any Ideas anyone?
