[SQU] assertion failed

Hello world,

last week we installed in our company a cache-server to cache our intranet.
The server works so far, except it sometimes simply stops and the server has to be restarted,
or that is squid at least.

In /var/log/messages I found the following corresponding lines and as far as I understand,
squid stops with that failure "assertion failed..."
The same failure output can be seen in /squid/logs/.

Can someone help me and tell me what I did wrong?

Our system is based on SuSE-7.0-Professional, minimal configuration plus Squid2.3, Proftp and apache.

A word to our intranet: currently we are not working with nameservers, all pages are reached by their
IP-numbers (there is a ´map´ installed for our users, so they can reach the pages by just clicking the
corresponding buttons). Therefore we scipped the dns-installation-procedure when we set up the server.
