Hi... I have been searching throught the info online (FAQ mail etc) and
don't know if I understand this correctly.
The TCP_REFRESH_HIT in the access.log means that the file was cached but
stale, however after an if_modified returned no change the file would be
delivered from the cache. The DIRECT means that squid went and got the
file from the original server.
If this is true then does the log below mean that the cache had a valid
copy of the file but squid went and got it again from microsoft.com.
If so why?
973808227.255 4595 10.120.96.168 TCP_REFRESH_HIT/200 3984 GET
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/iesites/ie501sp1/ie5sites.dat -
DIRECT/windowsupdate.microsoft.com application/octet-stream
Kind regards,
Jai Lamerton.
