Hi,
In my lab setup there are three squid cache engine and one cisco
router.WCCP version is version 1. The hash redirection information sent in
the Assign bucket and that sent in the `I see you ` message is reverse. Like
:
Cache Engines are : 172.16.1.36
172.16.1.2
172.16.1.175
Cisco Router - 172.16.1.110
In `Assign bucket` packet information the bucket information is as
follows :
cache 172.16.1.36 - 1st 1/3rd of the total buckets having
Cache index is 0
cache 172.16.1.175 - 2nd 1/3rd of the total buckets having
Cache index is 1
cache 172.16.1.2 - 3rd 1/3rd of the total buckets
having Cache index is 2.
In `I see you ` message sent from the router the hash information is as
follows :
cache 172.16.1.36 - allocated 3rd 1/3rd of the total
buckets.
cache 172.16.1.175 - allocated 2nd 1/3rd of the total
buckets.
cache 172.16.1.2 - allocated 1st 1/3rd of the total
buckets.
I am not able to understand why the bucket distribution information is not
compatible between the 'assign bucket` sent by the lead cache and `I see
you` message sent by the router.
I am sending herewith the NetXray capture file for more details.
Please look into the capture file for more details - packet 11 - Assign
bucket message. Packet 13,15 & 17 - I see you message.
Can any one please clarify why this incompatibility is there ?
Thanks
Neela
