Another calculating way:
According to squid docs:
....A cache 1.000.000 objects needs require 72 MB memory for metadata only.
According to my squid statistic:
Linux box: 128 MB, squid is using %60 of memory. squid have 460000 store
entries on 1549230 MB cache disk. So if i have 20GB cache disk, i could have
approximately 2,600,000 store entry. So:
Mem_For_Only_Meta_data = (total_store_entry * 72MB) / 1.000.000 object
= 2.100.000*72/1.000.000
~ 185MB
i assume, squid is using 185MB memory and 185MB is equal to %60 of all
memory (especially on the top using internet by the users) so the system
have to have at least approximately 300MB memory for 20GB cache disk.
What do you say this calculation?
