Caching documents

Hello,

I'm using Squid-2.3.STABLE4 in order to increase the
performance of a web based document repository. But
the only objects that are cached are the small ones
(gifs, jpgs). The actual documents (word, excel, etc)
are never cached (every time I access one the
store.log file shows a RELEASE, never a SWAPOUT).

The average size of the documents I want to cache is
less than 1M and I've set the maximum_object_size to
4096 (default)

Does anybody have any clue?
