I don't know if this help. My squid is on 486/66 machine with 64M RAM. I
got three IDE disks, one for system and the other two for cache of size
1.5GB and 800MB. My average CPU usage is about 30%. It occationally jump
up to 70%. My squid serve peak load during office hour at about 1.5 request
per second. Do your sever serve other function than Squid?
