Hi all,
If squid was not compiled with the --enable-carp option, will squid
evenly distribute the load on two parent caches by default?
Here's my configuration: proxy1 and proxy2 sit on different WAN links
to the same ISP and pointing to the provider's squid proxy server. the
proxies are also connected via 10MBps ethernet.
--proxy1.mynet.edu--
cache_peer proxy.isp.com parent 3128 3130
cache_peer proxy2.mynet.edu parent 3128 3130
--proxy2.mynet.edu--
cache_peer proxy.isp.com parent 3128 3130
cache_peer proxy1.mynet.edu sibling 3128 3130
--pinging proxy.isp.com from proxy1.mynet.edu--
round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 235.098/550.121/832.126/253.680 ms
--pinging proxy.isp.com from proxy2.mynet.edu--
round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 107.344/365.776/1057.382/400.572 ms
