Just in case it could be related ...

New reg keys exist into
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentSettings\Internet
Settings\Conections since M$IE 5.0

You may have a look into these 2 values, I can't tell you exactly their
names, I am not using IE at home;-)
You can delete the 2 values, they are rewriten each time you launch IE.
