Hello,
I work for a company in Nebraska. I recently set up squid on one of
our servers located in Tennessee. The server was set up to utilize
smartfilter (an internet filter program). The set-up and configuration
went fine. The filter works great. Now on to the problem. To utilize
smartfilter through squid we have to configure each of the computers
browsers seperately to point all http info to our Tennessee system. Not
to mention the user could just, with a couple of clicks,
stop their browser from using the proxy. I thought about configuring our
router to forward all http info to the system in Tennessee. The only
problem is I have come to find out that routers can't be configured to
ports. I am not a big router guy so this info might be incorrect. If it
is correct the only viable solution I can think of is to set up a DNS,
another proxy, a firewall, or any box that could reroute the info itself.
If anybody has any suggestions I would love to hear from you. Thanks.

Sincerely,
Mike "The Internet is like crack for smart people" Pulte
