Does Squirm handle HTTPS ?
Could you reverse proxy HTTPS using Squirm ?

No, Squid cannot reverse proxy SSL.
You are probably better off using a TCP plug like rinetd.
Yes, there exists patches to Squid for acting as a gateway HTTP<->HTTPS.
Probably not what you want in this case, but it exists.
