browsers & squid cache

Hello,

I have a question regarding the Squid Cache for v 2.3.STABLE2.

If a browser is set to retrieve new pages, or to look at the cache -
will the browser override the squid cache entries that have not expired?

Is it possible to configure Squid so that browsers can not override the
cache entries that have not expired?
