I've tried 8 different NICs myself on 6.1, each one has about the same
results. I had never had this problem on 6.0. Funny thing is I had upgraded
3 ISP's to 6.1 and have the same behaviour. Machines NOT running squid and
on the same network are doing ok. I left 6.0 running on 2 ISP's and their
working just fine :). You say your not runnning the default kernel which
comes with 6.1 ....are u by any chance running the NIC modules which came
with it?
