Does squid user has right to read-write /var/log/squid? If not.
Try:
chown squid:squid /var/log/squid
and than you should see after "ls -l" like this:
-rw-r--r-- 1 squid squid 1953971 Apr 27 10:52 access.log
-rw-r--r-- 1 squid squid 5312486 Apr 26 23:56 access.log.0
-rw-r--r-- 1 squid squid 6099210 Apr 25 23:33 access.log.1
Good luck.

Subject: problems with log creating
Hi all.
I'm new on linux. Yesterday I installed Mandrake 7.0 and tryed to install
Squid. When I try to start it I get message:
"Cannot open /var/log/squid/access.log:(13) Permision denied"
and Squid doesn't want to start.
Then I turned off creating logs, and now it works.
Does anybody have an idea, how can I solve my problem?
Thanks
