Tranparent Proxy Server and Geocities

 
I have a transparent proxy server and it all seems to work perfectly well except going to geocities and editing pages
it just goes back to the username/password when I enter the username/password in.. If you set the browser to use the
proxy (set up manually instead of the transparent proxy server) it works perfectly well.

Anyone have any ideas what would be causing it?
