Squid to be run during boot up

 I am not able to start squid during boot time.
 I need to manually enter the command squid after boot
 to enable it
 in the backgroud.
 
 I have included the path to the squid bin in the file

 /usr/sbin/squid
 
 but after the system is rebooted, checking from the
 client, squid is still not started.
 I enable it manually with the squid command after
 boot.
 
 How do i enable it during boot?
 
 If i run squid -NCd1 to debug the starting squid bin
