more info from my last information request see below dashed line
After connecting directly to the DMZ squid and seeing fast page loads
I then set my browser back to the internal SQUID.
I loaded a page waited for it to load
I then connected back to the DMZ cache and refreshed then page ( a lot
quicker )
I then set my browser back to the internal cache and refreshed for the thrid
time:
here is what I get from the access.log of my internal cache
the first time I load the page
954691227.036 9649 172.20.2.201 TCP_MISS/200 5089 GET
http://www.getco-offshore.com - TIMEOUT_FIRS

TIMEOUT_FIRST_UP_PARENT/172.20.8.1 image/jpeg
the last time I load the page

etco-sm.jpg - TIMEOUT_FIRST_UP_PARENT/172.20.8.1 -
how can I get rid of the TIMEOUT_FIRST_UP_PARENT ?
any ideas?
---------------------------------------------------------
I have an internal squid that has my DMZ squid as its only parent and the
internal squid can only reach the Internet via the DMZ squid.
The pages load but exteremely slowly.
so to test the configuration I opened up my firewall to allow my browser to
connect directly to the DMZ squid cache
the pages load very quickly.
so there must be somesort of delay between the Internal squid and the DMZ
squid.
the firwall allows
from internal to DMZ squid:
udp 3130
tcp 8080
and like I said before the pages load but slowly.
Does anybody know what I can tweak to reduce this delay?
somesort of timers etc..
may thanks
William Jackson
