Enter the IP address and port number of your Squid as the HTTP proxy, then
try establishing a connection. Look in Squid's access.log file for traces
of your connection attempt. If you find none then the application hasn't
even tried going through Squid, ie. the option is non-functional. If you
find something then it will tell you what to allow in your squid.conf.
