Squiders:

Evironment:
Pentium 100Mhz
memory: 16Mbytes (it will grow very soon!)
compiler: egcs-2.91.66

Target: this will serve a small office (about 10 W95) thru a 128K leased
line

Squid: 2.3-Stable2

Comand lines:
./configure --enable-dlmalloc --enable-heap-replacement

make

Problem: the harddisk led lits for about 20 seconds and...

gcc -g -O2 -Wall -I. -I../include -I../include -c cache_cf.c -o
cache_cf.o
gcc: Internal compiler error: program cc1 got fatal signal 9
make[1]: *** [cache_cf.o] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/tmp/squid-2.3.STABLE2/src'
make: *** [all] Error 1

Poor-man workaround: disable optmization (remove -O2 from Makefile)

What is the impact of disabling optimization?
What to do to compile it optimized??
