I've been mucking around trying to figure out how to limit the amount of
memory Squid is using. I see in the FAQ there is a section on memory but
this is talking about memory relating to cache. Squid is taking up all my
memory when almost nothing is cached. I've only looked at three web sites
with it
When I 'ps grep' for Squid I'm finding /usr/lib/squid/RunCache using 3.7% of
my memory and then 18 incidences of 'squid -D sNY' each using 24.7% of my
memory. Maybe I'm thinking about this wrong but it seems to me if I could
limit '/usr/lib/squid/RunCache' to one 'squid -D sNY' my problem would be
solved. Problem is I can't figure out how to do this. Is there anyone out
there who can help me with this? I have looked though the docs and searched
the archives. If I've missed something in the docs could someone please
point out where I have overlooked this so I can learn? I'm using version
2.1.PATCH2
Thanks,
kent
