Check the following entries in squid.conf
acl Safe_ports port 80 21 443 563 70 210 1025-65535
...
http_access deny !Safe_ports
Squid, by default, only allows access to specific defined ports.
Port 81, according to RFC1700, is not flagged as being used by HTTP (or any
other protocols Squid supports), so Squid is setup by default to not allow
access to this port.
Just by adding any extra ports to the Safe_ports acl should fix this problem.
[This is based on Squid2.2S5, BTW.]

Subject: Access Denied
Hi,
If I access any 'normal' page using my proxy I am allowed access,
if I try and access a page that is on my network such as:
http://access.mydomain.com.au:81
I get an access denied message from the squid cache.
Does anyone know why this would be happening and a fix for it?
Thanks
Dean Brandt
