Hello,
I am monitoring my squid-2.2 cache: I monitor client requests/hits and
IP traffic on ethernet interface. Also I can see the requests/hits using
cachemgr. The values I receive are mutually inconsistent, though:
- IP traffic volume graph (monitored using MRTG on a switch) shows that
incoming and outgoing traffic is almost the same; I would assume that
outgoing IP traffic volume should be larger since cachemgr shows that I
usually have 30% cache hits (bytes). It clearly is not 30% above the
incoming traffic
- reqs/hits monitored with MRTG are inconsistent with what cachemgrs
tells me there are ~200 req/min, while at the same time MRTG graph is
somewhere around ~400 req/min. So what is wrong with this? My MRTG target
is "cacheClientHttpRequests".
Bye Borek
