I am running 2.3 Stable1 on Redhat 6.1. It seems that
it doesn't like the address of 0.0.0.0 in the resolv.conf
file.
During startup everthing seems OK. Here is a log:
Performing DNS Tests...
Successful DNS name lookup tests...
DNS Socket created on FD 1
idnsParseResolvConf: nameserver 0.0.0.0
idnsAddNameserver: Added nameserver #0: 0.0.0.0
But........ when I try to browse from a client I get this
error:
WARNING: Reply from unknown nameserver [127.0.0.1]
My resolv.conf file had this in it:
nameserver 0.0.0.0
When I use nslookup I can resolve localhost, and the
127.0.0.1 address.
The only way that I could get it to work was to enter the
full ip address 192.168.1.254 in the resolv.conf file.
Any ideas why this would make a difference.
thanks,
geoff
