If you do not feel like wiping all your cache and runnink mkfs with a
lower bytes per inode setting then rebuild Squid to not use as many
inodes:
Change src/defines.h to read
#define USE_TRUNCATE_NOT_UNLINK 0
Then
make clean ; make install
and restart your Squid.
