Yes, this is a known shortcoming of Squids "so called" hot-object memory
cache. It can only "cache" data received from the network. This is
partly why I recommend running with a quite small cache_mem setting.
This leves more memory to the OS for buffer management which should give
a higher overall benefit that what Squids "hot object memory cache" can
do.
