Note that 1600 req/sec is about 175Mbits/sec. You will need a gigabit
uplink on your switch (or a "tunnel" of several 100Mbps links).
Moreover, load balancing 10+ Squids with a single switch may be tricky.
Current L4 technology is still very far from perfect, and at 1600/sec
rates, you may have to invest into more gear to make sure everything is
working as it should.
