Hi,
I've got a situation where we have put up a cache server, and we
are now experiencing problems with accessing web-based bibliographic
systems that we are subscribed to. The access is restricted to our IP
address space, so that way the biblio. folks can make sure (at least to
them) that it is really us accessing their system. Here's the thing:
- we're plugged into the NLANR hierarchy, and really want to stay that
way.
- Is there a way to tell my cache server not to ask the other cache
servers for the object, and instead go direct?
The only other alternatives are to either disconnect entirely from the
NLANR hierarchy (don't really want to) or to program every one's web
client with 30 domains not to ask the proxy for (which I can't really do,
because I am also going to be instructed in the near future to block port
80 outbound to force everyone through the proxy - DOH!)
Thanks for any help!
