Hi, Squid gurus,

I am new in this list, but here I find a lot of usefull information.
I have some questions to you. Maybe someone of you has the same problem.

First of all about my situation:
At the present moment LITNET (LIThuanian Academical and Research NETwork)
for connection to Internet use 1,536Mbps link through Lithuanian Telecom.
As usually the chanel is always averloded. Last winter we installed our
cache server which redusing traffic from Internet. Cache server runs on
Solaris 2.6 X86 with 256 RAM and 6GB disk space for cache. The average
number of reguest/day :700 000, it sends from Internet about 4GB of
information per day
At this time LITNET heads are thinking about aditional link ~1Mb (from
another ISP) to Iternet just for incoming traffic (uni directional link).
Only computer running cache server will be connected to this line. It
might look like

   Internet
 Unidirectional line

 LITNET Users,

Question:
What additional software must be required to install and how configure
squid that requests from cache server to originals WWW server would go
through existing channel but answers come back through this new link
(uni directional)? What is the easyiest way? Another question how much
powerfull computer must? It has to transfer about 10 GB from Internet and
serve about 1.5 mil. request, there are about 3000 users (I mean computers).
which will use it.

Thanks in advance,
Excuse me for my English.

Sincerely yours,

Milda Mimiene
