OK, I found the problem. In a way, it's obvious. Or at least, it sounds like
that :)
squid did not cache things, because I told it not to do so (or, because it
thought I told it that...)..
I had the following rule in my squid.conf:
acl local src 194.235.147.0/255.255.255.0 ... ... and so on, all IPs that
are in our network and that are allowed to use the proxy
no_cache deny local <- this was meant to avoid local things to be cached
This obviously does not what I wanted it to do: it seems that *everything*
matched the no_cache statement... So nothing was cached.
