In that case increase the number of your NMBCLUSTERS
(options(4) on *BSD machines.)
Have a look at the network load/collision rate (if it's non-switched
ethernet) of this interface: Those error messages come when the kernel
wants to send more packets than the interface is able to and there's
no more buffer space available.
(AFAIR---had some problems like this a year ago and "used the source" to
track down my problem; doubling NMBCLUSTERS fixed it.)
