I'm running squid 2.1.Patch2 on Freebsd.
First off, I have
acl umc dstdomain missouri.edu
always_direct allow umc
It's my understanding this would cause squid to forward all accesses
to servers in the missouri.edu directly to the server and not cache them.
But in looking at the access log, I see things like:
921009396.483 39 128.206.72.105 TCP_HIT/200 1929 GET http://www.missouri.edu/images/titles/dept_pages.gif - NONE/- image/gif
Which seem to be saying that the URL is cached on squid. Can anyone
enlighten me?
Also, in looking at access.log (which covers 18 hours or so), I see:
http://abcnews.go.com/images/spacer.gif TCP_MISS/200 GET
http://abcnews.go.com/images/spacer.gif TCP_MISS/200 GET
The cache is nowhere near full. Why two misses?
Thanks for any help!
Rich
