I'd like to add the term "child" to this list even if it isn't a term
that is seen in squid.conf.

A child is a cache/proxy host that gets stuff from you, but you never
get stuff from it regardless if they have it cached or not. No
cache_peer configuration currently needed at the "parent" (your Squid).
The child proxy configures your Squid as either a parent or sibling.
