The squid not makes me the cache in my proxy. for that?

         I am running the squid as a transparent proxy in a Ultra
        Sparc with operative system Sun Os 5.0 and Solaris
        2.6.

          I have running the ipnat directing the accesses http and
          ftp toward the squid. But the squid this not making the
          cache, arriving to the addresses, but when I make ftp
          a file, not keeps it in the cache.
          someone can say me that could be happening.
