From Netscape, I did an ftp to a machine specifying a username such as:
This worked fine, as it would normally, asking for a password before
letting me in. The problem is that now, when I go somewhere else,
ftp://archie.au (for example)
It tries to login to this host using 'tim' as the username. Squid
returns an expected error message like:
-- "While trying to retrieve the URL: ftp://tim@archie.au/ The following FTP error was encountered: User tim access denied.... This means that: An FTP protocol error occurred. Please try again." -- Is this a 'feature' of Netscape or ftpget which is causing the memory-effect??? How do I get around this?!?! I'm running Squid 1.1.6 under Linux 2.0.29. -- Tim Carlier Tim.Carlier@OZsupermalls.com.au Internet Supervisor Phone : +61 9 322 6230 PCU Computer Systems Australia Fax : +61 9 322 4471Received on Wed Feb 12 1997 - 21:36:12 MST
