I ran it from inittab, this worked fine for me since the very first
release.
squid:2:respawn:/usr/local/squid/bin/squid -DU # Start Squid proxy
I really prefer the inittab-way to the wrapper-script.
If I run it from inittab everything works except the dnsservers:
96/12/03 02:36:38| dnsOpenServer: $hello read test failed
96/12/03 02:36:38| --> read: (73) Connection reset by peer
96/12/03 02:36:38| Ready to serve requests.
if I run the RunCache-script the dnsservers are getting started also.
Just '/usr/local/squid/bin/squid &' from '/' works fine also, so it isn't
related to paths
