Hi,
how about
source_ping [off|on|domain*]
while we're discussing changes?
Being situated in Germany, pinging any source outside select European
country domains and, perhaps, the .net,.com, and .int domains would be a
waste of resources, so I'd like to specify, say,
source_ping .de .ch .nl .se .fi .net .com .int
(.com and .net are included because many German sites are in either of
these two domains. .int is included because some of these are close by,
too.)
Is a site pinged for every new requests, or do source_ping results (slow
or fast) have a certain TTL? Do they, for example, obey a sort of
extended 'robot decency' policy (i.e. do they query a site at most once in
five minutes, say)?
Best,
Andreas
